I'm Leah. I'm a wife & mother of 3. I was always considered a "tom boy" growing up. I grew up in athletics. I was never a dancer until I came across pole in my young adulthood where I took an intro class, signed up for a membership that day and never looked back! I continued to take classes until I became an instructor a few years later. I fell in love with pole due to the internal transformation it took me through. It gave me so much confidence and helped to mold me as a woman. Now, I enjoy being apart of the process for others to experience. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor. Helping women gain confidence through various forms of fitness is my passion. This is what I do. Come give us a try; you won't regret it 💜
My pole name is Makaria Thorne, but you can also call me by my given name, Holly! I started poling in February 2019 and I am loving every moment of where this journey is taking me! Pole has provided me with a safe outlet for expression and has done wonders for both my physical and mental health! As an instructor my greatest desire is to assist others in finding the same joy that pole has given me and to meet my students exactly where they are in their personal journey with pole.
I grew up dancing and finally found pole around 2019. I'm originally from Houston, which is where I began teaching, and haven't stopped since! I am so honored to be a part of each of yall's unique and beautiful pole journeys and I can't wait to see you in class.
I discovered pole about 5 years ago when I was teaching in Spain. I'm from Indianapolis, but I've moved around to many different studios before now landing in Winston-Salem. I love being a pole instructor because it combines two of my biggest passions: pole and teaching. My favorite part is connecting with students, hearing their stories, and helping them reach their goals. I'm excited to join the PBA family!
